*SJI project - Below proposal from project manager Lim Take Bane. For now, can someone take pictures of all the Honor rolls so that I can arrange for verification of all the names ?*
My proposal is straight forward. All the roll of honour boards in the entrance hallway should be considered for restoration. That way the project is manageable in terms of scope and target for fund-raising. In terms of other parts and aspects of the school buildings, the scope of conservation and maintenance work is too wide and the costs quite high.
Meanwhile, the text or names of the students and staff on the boards should be listed and verified while fund raising is done to execute the project. As soon as the name lists are confirmed, I shall endeavour to find a suitable contractor(s) to quote for the work. As soon as the funds are available, we can proceed with the work on site after obtaining approval from the school authorities.
The work entails touching up and re-hanging all the wooden panels with a minimal air gap between the panels and the walls to allow for any moisture absorbed through capillary action to dry out, without pushing out the front veneer with the text in white plastic letters on it.
When the time is right, I shall discuss with the HM, the above-mentioned work required.
